Yosemite... A Must See!

A lovely couple of days at Yosemite with my family...

We were blessed to spend a couple days before the thanksgiving holiday this year at Tenaya Lodge at Fish Camp California on highway 41.  The lodge is just two miles away from Yosemite National Park.  This area of California is truly a beautiful area to explore and enjoy.  The Tenaya Lodge had a lot to offer.  While we were there, we enjoyed delicious food, a tour of Yosemite, and quality relaxation time with our family.
We ate our meals at the lodge.  Jackelope's Bar & Grill offered a delicious breakfast buffet, as well as a full menu of breakfast choices.  Their evening dining menu also offered some fantastic choices.  I personally enjoyed the fish tacos because I like to try them wherever they are offered.  They were a little spicy, but so tasty I would definitely have them again.  On the second night I enjoyed the chicken pasta dish.  It was delicious.  I also had a bite of my husband's filet mignon and it was like butter.  It practically melted in my mouth.  On our second night there we were going to go out for pizza at Timberloft Pizzeria, but couldn't resist another night of Jackelope's because the desserts were calling to me.  The "English Sticky Toffee Pudding" is truly worth the indulgence.  It consist of moist date cake baked in caramel sauce and served warm with whipped cream and toffee bits.  I'm now inspired to try and make it myself.  I've already been looking for recipes because I had that two nights in a row and that isn't enough.  I honestly would have had it a third night had we stayed longer.  The lodge also offered a deli store with a large variety of grab and go choices.  In fact, the tour of Yosemite that we took came with a lunch that was provided by the Lodge Deli.
Our tour of Yosemite was simply perfect.  We took the Yosemite 360* tour.  The tour left me truly thankful for those who have worked, and continue to work in preservation of this breathtaking national treasure of a park. The mini bus allowed for 12 people and our guide.  We highly recommend having Scott as your guide.  He was a lot of fun and very knowledgeable.  His love and personal connection to the area was evident.  At every stop and along the way he provided us with ample interesting facts and stories.  Had we ventured on our own, it wouldn't have been as enjoyable.

As you will see in my pictures, the main lodge is already beautifully decorated for the holidays and the area has already received some snow.  I was so cold that added layers of clothing were needed, but then I am always cold when everyone else is perfectly content.  The cooler temps and the decorations set the mood to get me in the holiday spirit.  We stayed in one of the family cabins instead of the main lodge.  I really liked this because it provided a more private setting to relax with my family.  We played games and filled the cabin with laughter.  The main lodge was a beautiful 10 minute walk away, but we opted to drive because I was cold.   In warmer times, I'm sure the beauty of the area would be well worth that walk.
Warning... photo dump.  I have many more photos, but these will give you an idea of what this quick trip was like.  Enjoy!

My Story

My story
Why We Go To The Doctor Every Year

I am a forty-five year old mother of two awesome kids.  Before having my kids I was diagnosed with Von Willebrands disease (a bleeding disorder) and Polycystic Ovary Syndrome.  The second was more than likely the reason I had issues with infertility, but upon almost giving up, a dear friend suggested one more doctor.  Thank heavens for that friend's suggestion and for the blessing of my O.B.G.Y.N. who specializes in infertility.  If not for the excellent care of Dr. Safarik, I wouldn't be blessed with my children.

When choosing a Doctor....... Choose one that has your back.... Make sure he/she is there for YOU and that patient care IS something he/she does well.....

Keeping up with my issues and my care.... 11 years later and I now am a single mom.  I recently went for my annual visits and thankfully my mammogram was good.  A phone call from my doctor had me concerned about my pap result because I then needed a biopsy.  Then I had to wait for the results.  The waiting was the hardest part.....
I had already resolved that I wouldn't worry until there was something to worry about.  My doctor agreed with me and said that was a good place to start and that if there is something we will then take care of it.  That helped me get through the week, but the waiting is still very difficult.  Keeping busy is very important.

Thursday evening (May 9th 2013) I got a call from my from my doctor:

I have Endometrial intraepithelial neoplasia (EIN)  level 1 and 2.

When you hear that kind of news it stops you from thinking anything petty at all.  Suddenly every moment you spend with those you care about is a good one.  Even if your kids are melting down, its a good melt down. :)  Cancer is Cancer.... even if we take care of it...

CANCER is SCARY
